EKD Shock Absorber Inspection Records and Delivery Documents

Understand EKD process and final inspection checks, order traceability and the inspection records to request with your industrial shock absorber delivery.

Direct answer

EKD's inspection forms cover assembly checks, model identification, dimensions, appearance, leakage, functional testing and packaging. Specify the records needed for your exact model and order before purchasing, including test conditions, acceptance limits and the agreed sampling plan.

Questions this page answers

  • Does an inspection template prove the product passed?
  • Do these forms specify shock absorber return time?

Required inputs

Review steps

  1. 1

    Assembly and process checks

The process checklist covers parts against the bill of materials and drawings, threads and bores, rod condition, markings, piston components, springs, seals, dust wipers, rod movement and crimping. It provides fields for first-piece and sampled inspections.

  2. 2

    Final inspection and packaging

The hydraulic final-inspection form includes dimensions, markings, surface condition, leakage and an impact test on a test machine to check operation. It also covers instructions, ordered accessories, packaging labels and restraint against transport damage.

  3. 3

    Agree the order-specific record

Request the model, order or work-order reference, quantity, inspection date and inspector on the report. Agree the dimensions and performance to be measured, acceptance limits, sampling and report format. Sampling instructions differ between the supplied forms, so a universal 100% inspection claim is not supported.

  4. 4

Read the results, not only the form

The supplied spreadsheets are blank templates. The hydraulic form names an example model and work order but has no completed results or sign-off. Obtain a completed report for the actual order before treating any item as passed.

Common mistakes

    Technical notes

    • Based on EKD outgoing inspection form EKD-D-019, version 01; the process inspection checklist; and the hydraulic final-inspection form. Reviewed 9 October 2026. These documents establish inspection scope, not completed batch results.

    Buyer FAQ

Does an inspection template prove the product passed?

No. It describes the planned checks. The delivered batch needs its own recorded results, applicable acceptance criteria, date and approval.

Do these forms specify shock absorber return time?

They check rod movement and operation but provide no model-specific return time in seconds. Return force and impacts per hour cannot replace that value. Request the return-time specification or a measured result with its test conditions.

Preparing an EKD purchase or sample request

    Samples and minimum quantity

Include the number of trial units and expected production quantity. Request written confirmation of sample availability, minimum quantity, price and terms for the exact model and configuration.

    Standard or custom configuration

Provide the complete model code for a standard item. For a custom requirement, send dimensions, operating conditions, environment and acceptance criteria so the technical scope can be agreed before the quote.

    Delivery date and documents

State the destination and required date. Availability and delivery are confirmed for the model, configuration and quantity in the quotation. List the drawings, inspection records, declarations and traceability documents you require; request confirmation of their scope before ordering.

    Warranty or failure review

Provide the order reference, model and batch marking, installation photos, operating data, time in service and failure symptoms. Ask for the applicable warranty terms and assessment procedure in writing; do not assume a standard warranty period or an automatic replacement entitlement.

Move from answer to model shortlist.

Use the sizing tool when you have the inputs, or send the application data for engineering review.
