Use the worst arriving load
Base the selection on the heaviest pallet, fixture or workpiece that can reach the stop, including carriers and attachments.

Measure the speed at the stop
Transfer speed set upstream is not always the speed at impact. Check the motion at the actual stopping point, especially on declining or powered sections.

Review duty and alignment
A conveyor stop is a repeated impact point. Confirm hourly cycles, stopper geometry and guidance so the absorber is loaded axially rather than used as a locating element.
